Gosh, can you believe it?
I’ve posted several times in a matter of days.
Well today is a special day….hubby and I are celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary which also happens to fall on my dads birthday. I have spent a lovely day with my girls and my parents having lunch out, then home for my mums famous chocolate honey sponge birthday cake, complete with strawberries and cream…mmmmmmmm.
Tonight Mark and I will celebrate our anniversary. I honestly can’t believe it has been 18 years since that wonderful day. I truly enjoyed my wedding day and even though the usual things went wrong on the day, I remained happy and excited. My poor mother on the other hand was having a nervous break down when my dad rang her to say he had arrived at the florist to pick up the flowers and they weren’t even open. We actually got married on a Sunday which was rare 18 years ago. Anyhoo, they kept me in the dark and I just plodded along having my hair and makeup done, photos etc and didn’t realise that poor old dad was still running around chasing up bridal flowers.
It might feel like only yesterday that I got married but looking back on my album today I can see we have changed……we certainly look older, have changed shape……hhmmm, I’ve had 2 kids……not sure what Marks excuse is!!
No one likes growing older and milestones bring it home to you – I guess if we have to find one good reason for growing older it gives us the opportunity to watch the next generation growing up. It has been a joy to watch Amber grow from a beautiful little girl into a vibrant and happy woman. Amber is only one of our 14 nieces and nephews and the journey has been exciting for each and everyone of them. We are truly a family that is blessed with love, happiness and good health.
And finally, my mum still has roses flowering in her garden and she picked a pretty bunch of Double Delights for me today. I love the way the sunshine is shining through the rose in this shot. The bouquet of roses smells delightful and is so pretty sitting on my kitchen table.
Until next time….
Hugs,
Kerryanne
Happy Anniversary, Kerryanne and congrats to you and Mark on this special day! I know what you mean about time flying – we’ll have been married 16 years this year and it does NOT seem that long ago! We also had flower issues on our big day. My ex-aunt (divorced from Mum’s brother!) was a florist in Western Australia and made a gorgeous bridal bouquet and bridesmaid/miniature bride’s baskets of dried WA wildflowers and sent them with my cousins. BUT … she forgot to make our head wreaths! Mum and the local florist who sprayed paper daisies to match were the rescuers! Our life has been a series of adventures ever since!! Tee! Hee! Hee! Hope you enjoy your special dinner and LOOOOOOOVE the double delight – it’s my fave rose!!! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)
Congratulations to you and Mark. It is amazing isn’t it that all those years ago seem like yesterday.
Have a wonderful night.
Your Mum’s rose is beautiful

Happy anniversary! How fun to see your wedding photos – I see the flowers worked out! It is amazing how time flies and yet it still seems like such a short time ago. I feel the same way with my cousin – he was a cute little toddler clinging to my side just yesterday and today he is just about 15 and towers over me!

Happy Anniversary! Oh yes i do see the beautiful orchids in your hair, isn’t it funny that for both weddings they weren’t planned yet they are what probably added the oomph to the flowers!
Happy Anniverary Kerryanne, you had such a pretty wedding:) Rachael
Happy Anniversary Kerryanne and Mark, you certainly are a lovely couple! I’ve enjoyed your photos, your Mum’s rose is a delight! I’m appreciating and loving each and every blooming rose here in Melbourne as I know there won’t be many more before our cold months are upon us.

You looked beautiful on your wedding day! something always goes wrong though doesnt it? Mine had a few hiccups but nothing too major.
I have that same rose as your mums. Mine is so huge now and is right near the front steps at our porch and in summer i can sit on the porch and just smell smell smell the roses.

Happy Anniversary, Kerryanne. My hubby and I have been married for 18 years this year too! Think my wedding dress had a bit more padding in the shoulders than yours though lol.
