Welcome my friends to another week in the Shabby Art Boutique studio.
Thank you to everyone who linked up to Shabbilicious Friday over the weekend. The party link is still open, so please feel free to link up your shabby, French and vintage projects.
I had some time over the past few days to work on a very sweet French/vintage themed project for my own home.
It seems I have a ‘thing’ for vintage birds and botanical gorgeousness at present, so I combined my new fav’s with my love for anything French. . . and came up with a new cushion for my lounge room.
I started with some of my handmade French fabric. . .
constructed a graphic by combining 2 graphics from The Graphics Fairy, which I printed onto fabric.
After attaching the graphic to the French fabric with Vliesofix, I played around with some free motion stitching. . .
. . .threw in a few vintage buttons
. . . popped in a zipper and sewed her up!!
And there you have it. . .
a new French themed cushion full of charm and vintage character.
I’m sharing my French vintage birds nest cushion this week at Brag Monday on The Graphic’s Fairy
and at these gorgeous link parties.

Wow! I LOVE this! I’m really new to printing on fabric and I realise I hadn’t thought of printing onto cloth that already had a design. Oh, the possibilities! Thank you!

That’s gorgeous! What we do without The Graphics Fairy? I would buy this pillow if I saw it in a store. Love it!

Lovely cushion Kerryanne!

Oh boy do I love that fabric but buying some at Australian rate is way too much for me let alone the shipping. Sure love what you made tho. Would love to have that fabric but will just have to admire it from my pc. Maybe I can figure out how to make my own fabric. Worth a try and your pillow is a great inspiration.

Hi,
In response to Srpprcrftr and so everyone knows, the Australian and US dollar are practically on par at the moment. The cost of $9 per fat quarter is because the fabric is all printed by hand, which is quite labour intensive 🙂

Wonderfully cute!

Hey Kerryanne! Ooooooohhh! LOVE your gorgeous cushion!! I keep thinking I need to make a couple of cushions like this, but with sepia tones rather than black and white … it’s still on the list!!!! You know what that “LIST” is like! :0) Lovely that you were able to create something special for you to enjoy in your own shabby-French-chic nest! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS
