DIY: The Vintage Doll House Configuration Box

Hi creative friends,

Today I’m sharing a sweet little project that I created last week using The Vintage Doll House digital kit from me Etsy store.

The doll house art really spoke to my heart…. I had a beautiful doll house when I was young and was a big lover of dolls and all things girlie.

 

 

I painted a variety of vintage toys and dolls clothes for  The Vintage Doll House collection.

This kit takes you into a Victorian playroom, where the beautiful elements embrace a bygone era of toys and vintage children.

The project I created is a configuration box that I’ve made into a doll house.

Do you like configuration boxes?
They are a shadow box of sorts, with compartments to display or store items.

I think this box would be perfect as a gift box for a creative friend or a little girl…. but equally at home used as a display piece.

 

 

I used the doll house artwork to make doors for the front of the box… therefore creating a doll house.

There’s even little 3D flower boxes on the windows! 

 

 

Some metal feet added to the base elevates the cuteness level of this project!

And don’t they look very Victorian.

 

 

To the top of the configuration box, I added a vignette of white paper flowers and a few elements from The  Vintage Doll House kit.

Alternatively, you could add more boxes here to create the attic rooms… but I liked the surprise element of finding a pretty vignette behind the doors.
