Thank you for all the lovely comments on the free clock face pintables I shared with you HERE.
I love hearing about how you plan to use them.
Several people have said they are making actual clocks with them and that sounds wonderful.
I thought you might like to see what I’ve made with some of mine…
They CD clock faces are the perfect size for coasters and look so pretty on the table too.
If you followed my steps for mounting the free clock face printable on a CD, there is only one extra step to turn those into coasters.
Simply coat both sides of the paper covered CD with a sealant. I used several light coats of an enamel spray varnish, which will make them waterproof and okay for wiping down with a damp cloth.
If you missed the free clock face download, you can get it here.
I think the shabby clock faces add such a romantic look to the table setting.
For this table I also added fresh flowers for the centerpiece; hydrangeas, camellias and lavender stalks, plus I wove a 1 metre battery operated strand of petite bud lights through the flowers.
This table setting came together in a matter of minutes, making it easy to implement at short notice.
I also like that the coasters are flat and easy to store in the silverware drawer, ready for a romantic dinner, afternoon tea or ladies luncheon.
For your convenience I have supplied an affiliate link (below) for the bud lighting I used in my centre piece – US$7.99. I often use it for table settings… I think it adds that little something extra, even during the day.
I’d love to see how you use the printable clock faces, so I hope we see a few linked up at Shabbilicious Friday.
Happy crafting,
Kerryanne

Using the clock faces as coasters was something I had in mind. Thanks for the tip about the enamel spray.

Kerryanne, looooveee your coasters! ♥
These cuties would be perfect for summer, thank you for sharing such a lovely project.
I have a question about the hole in the middle of the Cds – do you use something specific to fill that, so that you have an even surface before applying the face clocks? I hope that makes sense 🙂
Hugs, Diana

Hi Jacqui, the photo paper I used was thick enough that once I applied it to both sides of the CD, the hole wasn’t an issue. You can’t see it or feel it. I too wondered whether it would tear or be pushed in, but my coasters have been fine. If you are concerned, you could adhere the printout to thicker card and then proceed with the same application as before. Hope this helps 🙂
