Dear Santa… I’m a little confused

I’m glad you are here… stop for a moment and take a deep breath.

I’m taking one too………..

It’s been an incredibly busy season!

Okay. . . so this is probably why we call it the ‘silly season’… right!

So this morning in amongst the rushing around in the humidity and heat…

I paused for a moment,

Pulled the dogs up…. um yes, they were on their morning walk.

And I wondered to myself… ‘what day is it?’

No seriously, I really had to think for a moment.

There just seems to have been so much going on lately with the…

Simply Shabbilicious magazine,

decorating for the Christmas home tour,

the Handmade Christmas collaboration,

and this week there’s the Cookie Exchange.

Add to that the daily happenings with Simply Christmas,

making gifts,wrapping and writing cards….

and don’t forget the baking……lots of baking!

 

Ummm, yes we do also need to work in the resort. The guests maybe on holidays, but we are not, so I slip in a bit of time there too. [sigh]

So there I was this morning, hot and slightly sweaty and feeling a little frazzled on my morning walk…

with no clue what day of the week it was…

and realising I needed to just slow down and B-R-E-A-T-H-E.

I’d forgotten my own mantra of ‘Simply’ Christmas.

I’ve definitely put the homemade and home baked into the holidays in the English household.

It’s all feeling very festive…. my lists are all ticked off… and I’ve sampled way too many Christmas cookies.

Time now to slow down and enjoy all the merriment of this beautiful season.

[And perhaps next year I’ll remember not to commit to so many things].

 

I’m looking forward to the fun things we have organised for the rest of the Christmas season… catch-ups with friends, Christmas drinks, break up parties and end of year activities…. all mixed in with a whole lot of merriment!

What a magical time of year it is.
