As most of you would already know, I write a project for Handmade magazine each month. I usually intend to show the project from each issue on this blog but invariably forget and then it is off the news stand. So this month I am organised….yep, this one hasn’t even hit the news stand yet but should be there early next week.
These little gingerbread house boxes painted as a candy shop and a bakery have a roof that is actually a removable lid. They make cute little gift boxes that can be filled with Christmas lollies and treats – measuring 90mm x 90mm x 160mm high. The Gingerbread houses project appears In Handmade Magazine Vol 26/ No 1.
Also this month I have a project in Australian Decorative Painting magazine Vol 15/ No 10. You may remember this painting from an earlier post a few months ago. This month my project is on the front cover.
Here’s a close up of my Christmas folk. I think I will hang this canvas in my front entrance hall this year. It’s so cheery and festive.
While I am showing Christmas goodies I thought I would share a few more of my new painting projects from my 2008 Christmas Collection….after all it is only 82 days away…he he he. Oh gosh, did I scare you?? Time to be thinking about the Christmas lists. Will I sound smug if I tell you i have almost completed my Christmas shopping? Oh don’t be mad with me I have a good excuse this year. I have to have all my shopping done before I go into hospital at the beginning of December. Actually, it is a good feeling knowing I have beaten the crowds and the craziness of queuing to be be served at the busiest retail period of the year.
Anyway, here is my sweet pudding place card and napkin holders. They look great on mass down the centre of the table.

Another favourite of my Christmas projects is this ‘Waiting for Santa’ canvas. My signature Rudolph is hanging out of the top of his stocking. The names of my family members are written on the stocking and the saying around the outside says “All the stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there”.

So remember folks…the Christmas countdown has begun.
I still have a couple of last minute handmade gifts to make or finish and of course handmade Christmas cards. Aren’t they your favourite kind of card? Almost a gift in themselves.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
