It’s been a thoroughly busy time in our household this past month.
We have my parents visiting from Melbourne, plus our daughter that lives in far north Queensland came down to visit for a week too. It’s the first time we’ve had all 3 generations together in the same house for about 4 years…. and it has been perfect. We are in the midst of organising a wedding, so of course there is much to talk about.
I admit that I miss a full house; one that is filled with laughter, abundant hugs and the odd bit of family teasing. Meal times are always kind of crazy and there’s the constant theme of cooking, eating and doing dishes, but that all makes me a very happy mum.
Needless to say, there has been no time spent crafting in the craft room, however, I am working on a fun project that is portable and perfect for stitching while I’m sitting in the winter sun, chatting with family members.
This is just a very small part of a much bigger project, so I look forward to sharing the completed items with you very soon.

Christmas 2018
Is it too early to talk about Christmas?
I know it is still 20 weeks away, but I always start working on Christmas prep about mid year. I’ve been tossing around ideas for themes and colour palettes and because I couldn’t decide between my love of pastels and Christmas reds, I’m working with both this year.
Here’s just a little sneak peek at my Wintery Woodland theme….
This week’s inspiration
Here’s what is inspiring me this week!!
- New to me…. Gorgeous shabbilicious Instagram account I think you will love too – Rosie Rose Chic
- Did you pick up these FREEBIES at Creative Market this week?
- I can’t wait to make these grilled peach bruschettas with goats cheese that were linked up at Create, Bake, Grow & Gather party this week by Janet at Rosemary and Thyme.
- A creative project you might enjoy for either your summer beach reading (USA) or cosy fireside reading (Australia) is this quick and easy tutorial for fabric scrap bookmarks.
See you tomorrow for our weekly

Hi Kerry Anne, Sounds life for is just about as good as it gets. I to like a busy house and miss that as a empty nester. It’s always time to talk Christmas and I would love to share some photos and projects that I have done over the years. I do a new theme every year and it’s mostly handmade from items I have around the house. I’m on a very tight budget, but that doesn’t stop me from having something new and fresh every year and of course it’s always Shabby Chic style.
Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo Jo
How wonderful to have 3 generations in your house at the same time! Lots of fun and laughter I’m sure! Will anxiously await your next project that you are working on.. and any of your Christmas things. I always LOVE what you come up with for Christmas here in the states! Love the pastels, but a pop of red is always nice too! Marilyn
I LOVE YOUR WINTERY WONDERLAND THEME!!! I cannot wait to see what you create. I love the beautiful sneak peek at your project and am on the edge of my seat waiting for that too!
