Sometimes the merry-go-round of life gets out of control.
Everything is too loud, too busy and too much.
My life has been like that for several months. . . even though it was due to good and positive things, it was still very exhausting.
The time had come to regain my mindfulness.
I returned to my happy place. . . the beach.
There’s something about the crashing of waves and the sea breeze whistling past your ears that silences the world around you.
Taking time for beach walks and moments of stillness has been very cathartic and rejuvenating.
The last few days I’ve enjoyed an almost empty beach each morning. . . except for the odd fisherman and John and his camel safari. The camels meander along the golden sands of our beautiful Lighthouse Beach giving holiday makers a unique tour experience. Watching their slow journey is peaceful.
I can’t believe that I had inadvertently let the noise back into my life.
Time on the beach. . . the warm sun on my face. . . and sand between my toes has me centred again.
Bringing mindfulness into my day is easy.
All I have to do is watch myself. . . breathe in. . . and breathe out.
To be present in what I do.
To taste and savour what I eat.
To see what I look at.
To hear the noises that surround me.
All I need to do is let go.
To release everything that is not me,
So I am at one with the moment.
I’m ready now for the next exciting chapter. . . Christmas.
Time now to catch up with all my blogging buddies, my favourite groups like Hometalk and the fun activities I have joined for the Christmas celebrations.
Don’t forget Simply Christmas begins this weekend. . .
together we can put the homemade and home baked back into the holidays.
I’m sharing my mindfulness this week at:
Inspiration Exchange, Live Laugh Rowe, The DIY Dreamer, Tutorials, Tips & Tidbits, , Transformation Thursday, French Country Cottage, The Vintage Farmhouse, Be Inspired Friday at Common Ground
I’d be thrilled if you’d like to connect with me at the following places. . .

Glad you are feeling centred again Kerryanne – it is so easy to let life get out of control.
Your beach photos are wonderful and just what I needed as it is very cold and damp here in the UK at the moment.
I’m really looking forward to Simply Christmas again this year.

Beautiful post. It seems like the minute I am happy with something, I move on to the next problem…. The key is definitely stopping to appreciate. Your photos are amazing! I am also looking forward to following along on Simply Christmas.

I think we all lose sight of the bigger picture sometimes Eilis. Just need to stop and smell the flowers occasionally.
Look forward to having you along for Simply Christmas. 🙂

I can’t even imagine not living by the beach the rest of my life Lynn. It gets ingrained in your soul, that’s for sure. Best of all, I love hearing the thunderous rolling waves as night… they lull me off to sleep 🙂
You’re always welcome to come visit me at my beach Lynn.
Hugs,
Kerry

Sounds like you found a wonderful, peaceful place (both physically and mentally!)
I love the beach and haven’t been to one in too long!

We are so blessed to live across the road from the beach Susan. Sometimes when life gets busy I neglect to make time to walk on the beach and then I lose sight of my peacefulness. It’s a pleasure that I should always make time for.
Hugs – Kerry

I cannot even imagine standing on the beach and watching camels. That has to be amazing.
Kerryanne says
We certainly live in a beautiful place Debbie and I never tire of watching those camels.

What a lovely post, and although I’m often centered through my work as an artist, it has been an extremely challenging year…but you’ve reminded me that we need to reconnect with Nature to feel grounded and in control again. Lovely to virtually walk along your beach….

Thank you Jeanne. Sometimes we just have to stop and refocus our energies. I feel so much better just doing this one small thing each morning. My life is still busy, but I feel better equipped to deal with it now 🙂
