While it’s only Wednesday and the week is not yet half over, I’ve already decided that it’s going to be one of those crazy and whacky, madcap weeks. . . you know the sort. . . everything’s kinda topsy-turvy. But out of the craziness has come some good times, fun and frivolity. . . and we all need that occasionally!!
I’m suppose to be finishing the final two Christmas patterns. . . ooopps, sorry if you are waiting on them. . . pinkie promise, they’re on the way. . . but other things just keep getting in the way.
Like today for instance; I had to pick up some supplies from a shop on a main road. When I was done I wanted to head for home (so I could finish those patterns), but could only make a left hand turn out of the parking lot. Well, that was annoying, but I changed route and went in the opposite direction fully intending to do a U turn as soon as possible. . . but then I noticed I was almost at the road where my favourite thrifting store is. What’s a girl to do? Seriously, it’s not like I could drive right past and not stop. What if today was a good day and there was lots of treasure to be had. So I did the smart thing and stopped in briefly. . . got a couple of things, but nothing special. I put it down to it being Wednesday – that’s just not my thrifting day, Thursday is. See what I mean about my topsy-turvy week.
So anyhoo’s, I headed for home. All seemed good until my car suddenly veered into The Salvo’s. I know, how crazy is that. . . it obviously thought it was Thrifting Thursday. I wasn’t feeling that usual flutter of anticipation you usually get on thrifting day. . . it somehow felt all wrong. I did a quick perusal of the bric-a-brac shelves.
I looked.
OMG. . . I looked closer.
Then I looked around to see if there was anyone closing in.
I had to stifle the scream welling inside of me. Are you with me here?
You know that moment when you unexpectedly find the really big treasure. . . that moment when your legs turn to jelly, your heart starts palpitating and you truly think you might pee your pants with excitement. This was my moment! The day when I should have been home typing up instructions and instead I was thrifting on the wrong day. . . which turned out to be the RIGHT day.
Okay, so you are probably wondering what sort of treasure could make one pee their pants in publics. . . well of course I’d like to show you, really I would. . . but I’m already sanding, painting and planning 8, yes 8, new secret pieces for my market stall. Ohhhhh that is so mean of me!!
What I can show you is something new. . .
This Flower Girl mixed media canvas is a new workshop I’m running in a couple of weeks.
It’s a techniques based workshop, which is perfect for the beginner. If you’d like more information, pop on over here to my website.
Righto, lots to do, my heads swimming with ideas. Might pop back with some sneak peaks later in the week.
Hugs ~ Keryanne

Add my so unfair comment to the others as I’ve visited that Salvos and found some great things there and was sooo expecting at least one photo of your find! Now we’re all on tenterhooks you’ll have to finish it quickly as we’re all waiting on Part 2!!
