Last night in my studio I held my annual Christmas/end of year get together for my very special friends. . . ‘The Bored Housewives Club’.
It always promises to be a fabulous night full of Christmas spirit, gift giving. . . and the joyous playfulness that comes with a close knit group of friends.
This year I surprised them with a Woodland Christmas theme. . . but even the white Christmas snow theme didn’t cool us down on what was an incredibly hot and humid night.
Let me give you a sneak peak before the girls arrive. . .
Everything was cleared from the studio leaving a blank canvas to work with.
I made a flock of white owls to watch over us. . .
And filled the room with 90 candles, fairly lights and natural woodland pieces.
It was still fairly light when we moved our party from nibbles on the back deck to the main meal in the studio. . . but still magical.
During the year we had a party fund box to save for a special treat – Moet bubbles. Oh how we enjoyed the Moet!!
All except our little mother-to-be Alley. . . . she’s only weeks away from delivering her bubba.
As the night progressed it got darker and the only illumination was the 90+ candles and twinkling fairy lights overhead.
Amongst much laughter and merriment. . . we shared gifts and toasted to the wonderful bonds of friendship. . .
And in the morning light. . . it was the owls whom were bright eyed and the holders of ‘secret women’s business’.
I’ll be back tomorrow to show you how I created this Woodland Christmas party with very little expense.
I’m sharing at this week’s link parties and with these friends: French Country Cottage, The Vintage Farmhouse, 36th Avenue, Clean and Scentsible, Live Laugh Rowe, The DIY Dreamer, Transformation Thursday, At The Picket Fence, Nifty Thrifty Sunday, Common Ground Vintage Inspirations and Tutorials & Tips Link party.

Your woodland theme came out really nice. Those owls are adorable too! I did the same theme this year and I think it was fun…first time for me to not have red in my Christmas display and it was weird at first but I really like it now. Looks like your guests enjoyed themselves too!
Clearly that’s exactly what I call a terrific blog article! Do you utilize this domain for personal joy only or you use it as an additional source of income?
