Hello shabbilicious friends,
If you’ve been following me for awhile now, you know that I’m enamoured with all things Scandinavian.
From the whimsical Norwegian Tilda characters to the gorgeousness of Danish companies, GreenGate and Maileg….. so, when Swedish company Photowall wanted to to collaborate on a project, I knew it would be a marriage made in heaven!
Come on in to the craft room and have a look at the scandi mini make-over that took place this week.
Photowall create custom wallpaper and prints…
And oh my, are you spoilt for choice with over 10,000 murals, 1000 designer wallpapers, 10,000 canvas prints and 9,000 posters to choose from. But that’s not all, if you are still having a hard time choosing the perfect artwork for you, Photowall can even print from your own image.
They were kind enough to let me choose one and I must admit, I was mesmerised looking through their online catalogue for a wallpaper or mural to jazz up the craft room.
I was sort of thinking along the lines of a pretty floral…. but then I stumbled across this pastel wood panel print and I knew right away that this shabbilicious colour palette was perfect for ME.
Can you believe, I ordered the Multihued Plank wall mural to fit my room specifications on a Friday and it arrived on Monday morning. That’s some pretty fast international shipping!!
Sooo, along with my trusty assistant; my 80 year old dad, who was a keen wallpaperer back in the 70’s, we cleared the room and wiped down the walls in preparation.
Photowall provided very easy to follow instructions and there’s even a quick video, but seriously, it really was incredibly easy.
The wall mural comes in a roll that is printed as panels. You just have to cut each panel off the roll with scissors and use the paste they provide to adhere the paper panels to the wall.
Within a few hours we had the two walls fully papered… and let me tell you, my dad couldn’t believe how easy it is to lay wallpaper now-a-days.
Being such a soft pastel colour, it is quite hard to photograph in my bright room…. but I think you can see the character the wood panels add to the wall.
The colours range from softest pink, to aqua, blue, mauve and ivory.
I wasn’t sure initially if I’d just do a feature wall behind my sewing desk or extend it around to the other wall…. but we all liked it so much that we kept on going.
The remaining two walls of the craft room are still painted a soft aqua colour.
I’ve not put anything back on my walls yet, as I wanted to be sure that the paper is completely dry…. and I’m actually enjoying looking at my shabby pastel wood walls right now, so maybe I won’t.

Wow, that was very fast shipping! Glad you and your Dad found is so easy.
Looks so lovely and suits the style you wanted to achieve.
Honestly Tricia, I couldn’t believe that shipping. It was such a lovely project for my dad and I to do together. Back in the 70’s I’m pretty sure we had wallpaper in every single room of the house (because that’s what we did in the 70’s) and my dad nearly had heart failure when he found out I was going to paper my craft room walls. I think he had vivid memories of the horrors of wallpapering back then, but we’ve come a long way since then with wallpapers. The paper is quite heavy and holds its shape well, so it was just a matter of one of us holding the paper and the other using the squeegee to smooth it onto the wall.
I’m enjoying the change in my work room and I think it will be lovely for autumn and winter, which we’ll be transcending into next month.
I don’t think that they ‘salted’ the catalog with that gem, just for you, you know, wink, wink! But wow, If I had to choose a rustic, shabby, pastel paper for your craft room, that would have been it. And wow, I am totally envious of the light you have in your space. I have a 8 x 10 shoebox of a space and it is full to bursting. I am thinking I need an overhaul. It’s either that, or I take over the living room, LOL!
Your room looks beautiful, Kerryanne!
Ahh Kimberley, it was meant to be for sure – lol. Thanks so much…. it feels like a nice shabby change.
I do have oodles of light coming into this room from 3 different walls, so not ideal for taking photos, but great for working in natural light.
Happy crafting,
Kerryanne
WOW!! I thought that was actually wood panelling! It looks great.
Thanks Beth…. it’s actually a photo of real wood panelling, so that’s why it looks real. I’m just so happy with it.
I love it! My heart skipped a beat when I saw it. It looks shabby fantastic. So natural, so Nordic, so you ? And you and your dad did such a wonderful, neat job of it. It’s like it has always been there, it’s where it belongs. I can picture you there, crafting and creating, surrounded by it’s serenity. Wishing you many happy hours within those gorgeous walls. ?
Thank you my gorgeous friend!!
There is such a serene feeling created by the soft, muted colours. I agree, it is totally ‘ME’… pastel, shabby and a little distressed. I’ve added a few thing son the walls as well now and feeling more like my shabby little nook.
Wish you could see it in person xx
I love your wallpaper. If I lived in my own home I would rush to get it for my place. Not the whole place, but like you have done. I think it would look lovely in my bedroom. That paper and the soft aqua paint colour. My bed is white iron and my furniture is cream. You are very clever and I love looking at all the pretty things you do. Judy.
You know Judy, I think this soft muted wood panel wall would look amazing behind a bed in a shabby bedroom for sure.
I’m so happy that you are inspired by the things I create.

Absolutely stunning Kerryanne??? The ‘paneling’ looks so soft and peaceful??? It also adds much depth to you room? What a lovely, bright, and fun place to create in??? I’m SO happy for you Kerryanne…and getting to do this project with your father was just icing on the cake??? Wishing you many happy hours of creating in your beautiful space???? Smiles, Deborah ???
Thank you so much Deborah. It was an absolute blessing getting to do a DIY job with my dad. We are so alike and both perfectionists, so work really well together.
The new look has certainly created a slightly different vibe in the room and I’m loving the change. Of course, I loved the aqua walls too, but as the old saying goes, a change is as good as a holiday!

It’s so perfect! I would LOVE that in my atelier! It is gawwwgeous in your craft room!!
I think I made a good choice Ann, but gosh it was hard with so many pretty prints to choose from.
It’s feeling pretty special in my craft room right now 🙂
Hugs to you my friend xx
Oh, Kerryanne, the wallpaper is gorgeous and so “you.” I’ve never seen anything like it and those pale colors are what all we shabby girls love! Your craft room was lovely before, but now it has moved into the spectacular. I am thrilled for you.
Thanks so much Linda. I know what you mean…. the pretty pastel colours are so perfectly shabby.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
Really, really GORGEOUS…calm and soothing. Peaceful and pretty.
Definitely all of those things Jenny. It’s my calm little corner of the world for sure!
Hugs lovely lady xx
I LOVE that wallpaper! We can get scrapbooking paper very similar, and I’ve always thought how pretty it would be on a wall! It’s so perfect for your (lovely) craft space.. just absolutely PERFECT! Your room is such a dream. I too have a small room and it is wall to wall shelves that are stuffed to overflowing! But it’s my “happy place” so I just live it all, as every piece is like a dear friend to me! (fabric, papers, finished projects, photo collages, vision board, quotes, gifts from others), etc. I love your white desk and the shelf above it too! Marilyn
I know what you mean about being surrounded by all of your pretties Marilyn… that’s exactly how I feel too.
Thank you for your lovely comment and I;m glad you like the changes I’ve made in my craft room.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
That looks SO good! It works with your colors perfectly!! The best part was getting to work on a project with your Dad, I bet! xoxo
Before I read your blog I was looking at the photo and was amazed at how great those wood planks looked. Perfect! Now knowing what they are is such a surprise! Definitely have to check that company out!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! What a transformation and it’s perfect!
