I am so grateful to everyone of my lovely readers who took the time to take part in my survey last week.
There were no big surprises when I analyzed the results… which I suppose is a good thing… and sort of comforting too.
There were some suggestions that added food for thought and I’m really happy that some of the new things I’ve got underway for 2015, actually came up in the suggestions too. They made me feel like I was on track!
Cottage style decorating is becoming very popular and I have several decorating features that will run on my blog throughout January and February that will celebrate this eclectic style.
Today I thought I’d address a question that comes up frequently on my Facebook page and one which was also asked several times in my survey… it’s about the GreenGate brand from Denmark. See their catalogues here.
I feature these gorgeous products from GreenGate on my Facebook page every couple of days, plus I have it in my own home, so it often appears in my photos here on the blog.
I recognize that there is a frustration with the availability of this product for a large number of my blog readers and some of that stems from the belief that GreenGate is an actual shop… it’s not.
The company GreenGate distribute their products to others to sell, so you need to find a stockist. It is not distributed to the US, so my US friends will need to buy online or see my exciting news at the end of this post.

I live in Australia and purchase my Greengate products from Brie at Pretty Homestyle, which is an online Australian shop. Brie’s service is fabulous, so I can highly recommend her.
Another shop I’ve purchased from online is Originated Shop in Europe.
The cost of international postage prohibits a lot of people from buying these gorgeous cottage style products that predominantly seem to come out of Denmark and Europe…. but I have a solution!
Starting next Monday, I will be sharing a new Shabby Art Boutique series, ‘A Cottage Life’ that will show you how to make your own cottage style homewares just like those from GreenGate and Cath Kidston.
Here’s the best part…. I’ve used very inexpensive thrifted items and a few crafty supplies to create these fun pieces. I think you’ll be surprised at how good they look and how easy they are to make.

I can attest to how frustrating it is to see all this loveliness and not be able to get your hands on it. Unfortunately, the cost of shipping inhibits much purchasing – you are absolutely correct. But we can dream. So looking forward to your tutorials. It will be the next best thing. And isn’t thrifting one of our absolute favorite past-times 🙂

this line of dishes make s me want to rip them off the computer and covet them.I have never seen such fabulous beautiful dishware as this company and I have never seen before. will they sell soon in the usa and can we order directly from them overseas? even if they are pricey? can’t wait to see what you do please keep us posted.Susie
GreenGate certainly make pretty things Susie. It’s made for the European market, so not an easy thing to get in other places, but I’ll share with you next week how I get the look at my house for a fraction of the price. See you then 🙂
