Hi creative friends,
There’s something so magical about seeing Velvet Rose Antiques come to life through the creativity of our Design Team and Guest Designers.
This week, they’ve continued the story of Mrs. Pemberton’s charming antique shop with an incredible collection of journals, dimensional projects and paper creations, each filled with thoughtful details and whimsical storytelling.
I hope you’ll enjoy exploring their beautiful work and perhaps find inspiration for your own projects too.
Lauren – Shabby Chic Sundae
Lauren has truly outdone herself this month with her most ambitious project yet!
In collaboration with her dad, she has created an incredible antique shop dollhouse that stands almost two feet tall.

Every detail has been lovingly considered, from the softly lit two-storey interior to the tiny treasures lining the shelves, each complete with its own miniature price tag. Mrs. Pemberton even has an antique cash register ready for welcoming customers!

Hidden within the shop are two adorable one-inch mini journals, packed with charming details that perfectly complement the whimsical world of Velvet Rose Antiques.
Be sure to watch Lauren’s full video tour to appreciate the extraordinary craftsmanship and all the delightful surprises she has tucked inside.

Myry – Fils et Papiers
Myry has created the sweetest three-dimensional Antique Shop stationery holder inspired by Mrs. Pemberton’s store.
The beautifully detailed shopfront opens like a welcoming door to reveal a clever storage compartment inside.

Hidden within is a box pocket designed to hold a notepad along with coordinating pieces of ephemera, making this both a beautiful display piece and a practical addition to any craft room.
It’s a wonderful example of Myry’s talent for combining creativity with functionality

Tracy – A Trace of Tradition (Guest Designer)
Our wonderful Guest Designer Tracy has completed her enchanting tag-shaped mini journal, inspired by the many charming departments inside Mrs. Pemberton’s Velvet Rose Antiques.
Beginning with the clock tag she shared earlier this month, Tracy expanded the collection into a beautifully interactive journal filled with delightful discoveries on every page.

As you turn each tag you’ll uncover thoughtful details including a sewing machine box pocket complete with lace trim, a clock face that opens to reveal a secret book nook, a magnetic flip-out page, antique-filled pockets, a tiny trinket box that really opens, a hidden typewriter with a removable inventory list, and even a delicate package of treasured purchases waiting to be discovered.

Keep an eye out for the sweet little mouse too… she has found herself another cosy hiding place amongst the antiques!
Tracy has also shared both a full flip-through video and a helpful tips and techniques video, including her binding method, for those who’d like a closer look at how she created this remarkable project.
This project also carries a heartfelt tribute. After learning of the passing of our dear friend Beth Elardo, Tracy added beautifully layered embellishments to the dress form featured on the sewing machine tag as a tribute to Beth’s wonderful talent for texture and dimensional layering. It is a touching reminder of the friendships and inspiration we share within our creative community. Thank you Tracy 💗
