Hi creative friends,
Step through the door of Velvet Rose Antiques, where every shelf holds a forgotten treasure and every piece has a story to tell.
This month’s collection is filled with soft shabby florals, vintage clocks, elegant furnishings, whimsical little mice and timeless antiques, all wrapped in gentle shades of blush, ivory and faded rose.
Before you browse this week’s beautiful Design Team projects, take a moment to enjoy the sneak peek video and soak up the atmosphere of this enchanting little antique shop.
Nicola ~ Shabby Journals Crafts & More
Nicola has truly outdone herself this month with two wonderfully imaginative 3D projects inspired by the kit.
Her first creation is an exquisite pink mantel carriage clock, built from the kit elements and carefully layered with beautifully fussy-cut embellishments to create incredible dimension.

Nicola has also shared a mini tutorial in the Craft Room showing how she achieved the layered construction.
Her second project is the sweetest shabby retro rotary telephone, beautifully detailed and full of nostalgic vintage charm.

Tracy ~ A Trace of Tradition (Guest Designer)
Tracy is currently working on a larger project, but she’s given us a delightful little preview with this charming interactive Book Nook Tag.

At first glance it appears to be a beautiful vintage carriage clock, but the clock face opens to reveal a magical hidden scene inside.
Nestled within is our little reading mouse tucked away in her secret book nook, complete with a wonderful layered tunnel effect that creates beautiful depth.
It’s such a clever and whimsical interpretation of the kit.

Marie Oswald (Guest Designer)
Marie has created one of her signature dimensional journals, filled with layer upon layer of gorgeous shabby details.
Using the papers from the kit, she has handmade beautiful pockets, tags and tuck spots before embellishing each page with an abundance of the fussy-cut elements.

Every spread has been thoughtfully composed, with lovely textures, torn edges and delightful little details waiting to be discovered.
While Marie is not on social media, Craft Room members can see her gorgoeus projects shared inside the community.
Caroline ~ Carolee Crafts
Caroline has created a sweet tag-shaped folio, bound together with binder rings to hold a collection of coordinating tags.

The pretty layered embellishments and soft vintage colours capture the gentle elegance of Velvet Rose Antiques, making it both a lovely display piece and a practical way to store special tags and keepsakes.
