You know that moment when you open your mail and find an envelope that looks different.
There’s perhaps an air of anticipation when you realise it’s definitely not a bill.
And when you open that envelope, you find a mini piece of art work….
Joyously handmade by someone that thinks you are worth the time and effort it takes to create a handmade card just for YOU.
And in doing so, they are giving you an emotional piece of themselves…. kinda like a ‘hug in a card’.
In this age of internet and virtual cards, there really is something special about receiving a real handmade card.
One that you can put on your dresser or desk and every time you eyes come to rest on it, you are reminded that the giver was lovingly thinking of you.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be a birthday greeting… it may be just to say ‘Hi’, ‘I’m thinking of you’, in sympathy or poor health. There are many occasions when a loved one will appreciate a handmade card to brighten their day.
Likewise, beautiful handmade tags will take a gift to the next level.
And honestly, they are super quick and easy to make!!
These tags were simply printed, cut, glued and embellished. Fours steps in a matter of minutes… especially if you are making several at once.
As craft projects go, this is a project almost anyone can do. A handmade card can be anything from a basic printable to an elaborate paper crafting project…. limited only by your imagination!
All of these cards and tags were made using elements from the May kit of the Handmade Club and are just one example of what you can do with a kit of pretty papers and embellishments.
Do you still make and give handmade cards?
