Our home has been full of comings and goings this past few months.
Bags have been packed, unpacked and packed over and over again…
and our poor fur baby is beside herself watching these shenanigans!
To be honest, I’m dragging my feet a little today. Having just returned from another interstate trip (second one in two weeks)… I’m feeling a little bit weiry!
Family events have had me dividing my time between city and country (& 3 states) this past few months and while it is invigorating to experience both lifestyles, I can freely admit that I’m not suited to living out of a suitcase for too long.
I’m such a homebody!!
And I miss my beach serenity when I’m away more than a day or two.
But going away does make you appreciate those ‘little’ things that we take for granted… like sleeping in your own bed… walking barefoot around the house… and making [sneaky] midnight snacks.
With my travel plans on hold for awhile, I’m ready to get back to my usual routine. Top of my list is finishing a couple of bigger projects that are near to completion.
My craft room desk is covered in new designs ready for my Society 6 shop, so I look forward to uploading my new ‘Beach Vintage’ collection this week.
As this shop is based in the US (but can ship worldwide), this is my Summer 2015 collection.
Here’s a little sneaky peek at my mood board for this new collection.
The really big project I’ve been working on for the past few months is the latest issue of Simply Shabbilicious magazine.
Having the great honour to work with such amazing artists, bloggers and photographers is a real treat. I admire them all greatly!
I’m very excited about this truly beautiful edition and I hope you’ll love it too!
Coming soon…
Most of all this week, I look forward to getting back to ‘ME’…
Nourishing my soul with my beach walks, creative time, catching up with friends and taking time to just ‘breathe’.
May your week be perfect!

Welcome Home! We travel all summer and I too love the feeling of coming “home”
I thought I was the only one that said “home again home again jiggety jig” every time too. My husband had no Idea what Nursery Rhymes were when we got married…He always looked at me funny whenever I quoted MOTHER GOOSE 🙂

Welcome home. I am a homebody too so I would be weary after all of that traveling.
Your Vintage Beach designs are so sweet. Lovely colors and sweet faces on the beach girls. I look forward to your new issue! So thankful to be a new follower of all that you do!

Kerryanne,
I do not blame you for being so tired. Living out of a suitcase is hard. With your serene life on the beach I can see how wanting to be a home would be so much more enjoyable. Have a great rest of the week. Take a nap after a nice long walk on the beach!

Your Beach Vintage girls look absolutely beautiful, love them.I look forward to seeing them in your up and coming Simply Shabbilicious magazine. I know what you mean when you have been away for a while it really makes you appreciative of home and “letting your hair down” and being able to be barefooted:-). Your own space. Hugs Shirley N.Z.

That sure can be quite tiring, back and forth, packing, unpacking. Glad you finally got home and can stay there for while. Home is sure appreciated so much more when you’re away, and missing your own bed, being able to have snack when you want one.
Think I missed my craft stuff when I’d go with hubs trucking. Did love going tho, after few weeks was quite content to keep going with him. We’d go all over US and Canada, I loved it. No house cleaning, no cooking, did have to do laundry at truck stops and grabbing quick showers not my favorite, need my shower/hair wash. I did wash up days we didn’t get shower. Had deep plastic container hubs would go get some hot water for me and I’d add it to cold water, then wash all over, wet my hair so I could at least look decent. Had short hair in those days. I could wash as hubs motored down road.
When I first starting going on road with him when we lived in MT, I’d put pj’s on at night, get into bed. After while that was more trouble than worth it so finally gave that up, just slept in clothes at night, lot easier if we had to stop somewhere late at night and I needed to get out for some reason. We lived out of boxes actually or back pack, quicker and didn’t take up as much room. Had to learn to pack much differently then depending on where we were going or time of year. All our clothes had to be kept under bottom bunk, hubs had truck later on with bunk beds. For many years we had to share one narrow bed with dog on it with us. Was a luxury when we both had our own bed.
There’s all kinds of traveling, sounds like yours wasn’t as much fun. I think every truckers wife should go with him when possible, helps her to understand how hard it is for him on road. Your sleep is disturbed, have to eat when you can, shower when you can. Hubs got so he’d wash up also between showers or I’d threaten to hose him down somewhere, in summer especially. Sometimes we’d be going for so long with out chance of shower even every other day depending on where we were. Getting showers not as easy in Canada as US.at that time anyway. Don’t know if he washed up when I wasn’t with him but when I was with him wasn’t going to put up with smelling stinky person, lol I’m a real bear about personal hygiene. I would not make a good homeless person, need to be clean.
Been long time since I had post from you, have sure missed your wonderful blog, you are so talented, love seeing what you make.
Better go get my shower, have great rest of week and weekend. Every time I see those hand painted bunnies I wish I had some of your talent, they look so life like. Hope all very well with you and yours.
