Have you noticed how busy everyone seems to be?
Do you suffer from “I’m-so-busy-itis”?
I have to admit. . . sometimes I do. . . and it definitely doesn’t fit in with my ‘simple living’ lifestyle.
I realised this week that I’d scheduled a little ‘too much’ on the all important ‘TO DO’ list. . . oh dang, I was never getting anywhere near close to completing that list.
I’m busy in that heart racing, must keep going kind of way, but definitely not the overwhelming type of busy. It’s a busy month on the work front and I just needed to scale back, prioritize, and be realistic. . . I’m not Supermum!!
So I did just that. I made more lists. . . yes, what can I say, I’m a list making kind of girl. I wish I could be a more fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants person. . . but I’m not. I’m a planner. . . thinker. . . organiser. . . I’m a LIST girl. So lists it was! I broke it down into manageable chunks starting with. . .
the ‘really important must get done’ list,
the ‘you’ll get your butt kicked deadline’ list,
the ‘run out of food mid-week shopping’ list, [ggrrr]
the ‘not as important, but would help to get done’ list,
and finally the ‘start a list for next week’ list.
I knew I’d taken lists to a new level though when I started talking to the kids in lists. . .
Aimee.
Room.
Clean it!
Personally, I’m thinking ‘List Talking’ could take off. . . it’s simple, uncomplicated and straight to the point. Teenagers tend to get a bit ‘Argy Bargy’ when there’s too much conversation. . . this could work in our home.
Actually, as far as busy mums are concerned, I’m seeing ‘List Talking’ possibilities in all areas of life;
Coffee
Cafe
Now
or what about. . .
Bed
Headache
Sleep
Yupperdoodles – I’m on to something here. With all the time I’ll save on talking I’m bound to cross something extra off my ‘To Do’ list this week.
So my friends,
Work. Studio. Goodbye.

Hey Kerryanne! Tee! Hee! Hee! What can I say … the seat of my pants is just about worn through cos that’s how I fly, but … I do make lists from time to time when my mind gets too cluttered. I make a list with very good intentions of following it and crossing stuff off … then someone says .. “Cafe? Coffee? Now?” and I’m gone! :0) I think we all need to learn to just make shorter lists!! Enjoy your studio time – Bear Hugs! KRIS

Read it – Laughed – Great!
I make lists and then forget to follow them LOL or forget to take them with me…how many times have I made a list of urgent purchases only to find I’ve left the list on the worktop where it was left so I wouldn’t forget it…
Have a great weekend.

LOL KerryAnne funny post! I make lists but never remember to take them with me/look at them/cross things off. I do like Lists though. At least when you write a list it feels like you have done something LOL!

Not a lister myself. My husband does enough for both of us!
Anyway, I know I’m only one in like a thousand, but I just wanted to let you know that you are a great inspiration to me. Thank you for that!

Hi Kerryanne,
Hey, I like the Aimee, Clean room.
Did it work? I’m not so sure it would work for my guys.
I make Christmas gift lists otherwise I put lots of information in my phone notes and calender.
Maybe I should do a list that says ‘make art more often’
Have a wonderful weekend,
Creative hugs,
Anna
