I’m finding it hard to believe that we are just 2 weeks out from Christmas already and I’ve only managed to share a few of my Christmas projects with you.
Usually Christmas is full on here at Shabby Art Boutique… but like many of you, 2020 has thrown a spanner in the works. My life has been a little crazy with my dad being unwell and my routine drastically changed.
Even though I have managed to complete some of my projects, I’m often in the craft room at night, so taking photos isn’t optimal.
I did manage to decorate the house and craft room this year… albeit a more simplified version… but somehow that feels perfect for this year.
I’ll be sharing my Christmas craft room with you early next week and you’ll get to see my tree of angels, but today I thought I’d share some of the handmade angels that adorn the tree.
All of these angels are from the November Handmade Club kit, ‘Home for Christmas’…. but unfortunately, it is only available for a few more days.
I think the angel above is my favourite…. she is a beautiful Victorian Angel that I have embellished with a swag of soft white feathers, pearls and silk ribbon. Although it is not obvious in the photo, I also glittered her wings with a sprinkling of German glass glitter. She looks her best when the early morning light steams in through the French doors and bounces off her glittery wings…. honestly, she just glows.
Like the previous angel, this gorgeous one is also quite large and I glittered her bird and the lace cuffs on her dress. She has such a pretty face.
There’s a trio of mini baubles hanging from her bodice with a double seam binding bow and I also popped in a small length of glittery garland.
There were several golden angel tags in the kit this month. I edged them with mica flakes and hung a matte gold bell on each one. It was quick and simple, but adds a lovely texture to the tree.
I tried a few different things with the 3 inch circle printables…. well, naturally they all received a sprinkling of glitter!
On this one I added a gathered crepe paper edging that had mica flakes on the outer edges. I love how they sparkle when the tree lights are on. The gathered crepe paper is sandwiched between two of the circle ornaments.
For this one I also added in some mini rose gold foil garland and mica flakes.
This rose gold garland was a lucky inexpensive find at a dollar store. It works so well with the pastel pinks I adore, so I’ll be tucking the rest safely away for next years projects…. and hopefully by Christmas 2021 our world will feel more normal!
You might remember a few weeks ago I shared these Victorian angel ornaments with the crocheted edges (tutorial here).
They are now hanging on my Angel tree in the craft room along with all of the other angel ornaments.
I look forward to sharing the full tree with you when I do my craft room Christmas tour next week.
Happy Christmas crafting friends!
