I popped up to Port Macquarie for a few days with Mark to check out our new house and make final arrangements for our arrival in 3 weeks. That’s Lighthouse Beach in the photo above – this is where we have purchased our house. The beach, local shops and both girl’s schools are within walking distance.
The weather was glorious and as it was NSW school holidays there were plenty of people using the beach. It’s whale watching time at present so lots of people along the clifftops keeping an eager eye on the sea. I didn’t see any whales but did see a pod of dolphins frolicking in the breakers close to the shoreline. That’s not unusual as dolphins are regulars in Port but it certainly was a treat for me.
As well as enjoying the beach views I also managed a tour of the brand new Glasshouse Gallery while there…. made somewhat difficult with limited disabled access but I didn’t let that stop me. I look forward to being a regular at the gallery.
Then it was back to Melbourne and the PACKING. I’m currently up to my 110th box and still a way to go yet. I’m being ruthless and trying to toss out anything I haven’t used in awhile.
This past week I also had my last class. You would have thought that it would have been a very sad occasion but we actually spent most of the night laughing and having fun. I think we will save the sad goodbyes for our night out next week. Anne made each of us one of these beautiful ‘Friends’ pouches. They were all different with such a pretty selection of fabrics.
When you open it there are little fabric pages inside.

I would give much and LOVE to live on a beach in the northwest U.S., sugar, so you are living my dream. But I’m truly happy where I am in the deserts of Idaho, honey. I have hubs and a home and that makes me happy. I’m an easy kinda chick!
xoxo,
Connie
When we moved here from California we had over 400 boxes and a full semi-trailer packed with only our stuff!!

Hello gorgeous!
Our last painting night all together was fun, I am so glad we decided to have a “night out” next week as our last get-together, otherwise I may well have flooded your studio with tears! Not good for a lady on crutches!!!
Port looks absolutely stunning Kerryanne. And I am sure you will be welcomed with open arms… if you ever need a testimonial for what a fantastic teacher (and friend) you are… then look no further!!! At first I felt so desperately sad you were leaving (never?!!) but now I just feel incredibly blessed and grateful for the time we DID get to share together! And of course, our friendship doesn’t end here! You really are a treasured friend.
Hugs sweetie! I look forward to next Tuesday! (And yes, Anne is a sweetheart isn’t she?!!)

What a wonderful post. Your new home location looks like a dream, and that nearby gallery is amazing. It must be sad to dismantle your classroom, but your new chapter sounds divine. I love moving, I have moved over twenty times and four of those moves were moving country. I think reinventing ourselves keeps us young and interesting.
What an exciting journey. So nice to meet you, I’ll be browsing your beautiful blog now. God speed on your upcoming move.
