I know that many of you are crafters, sewers or DIY’ers…
So I have a question for you.
What crafting tools can you not live without?
We all have our favourites…
My two things are actually items I made a few years ago and are practical as well as pretty.
My first is my vintage needle book.
For a great many years I was forever buying sewing needles, but never had what I needed, when I needed it.
I was also guilty of sticking them in my cotton reels… only to be accidentally stabbed by them later on.
So I finally made a book to store them in.
I made individual labeled pages, so I would always put them back where they belong.
Now I can go straight to that book, flick through the pages and get the perfect needle for the job… and I never get a needle prick!
This design is available as an E-pattern in my Boutique and comes with all the instructions for printing this design sheet on fabric, using your own computer printer.
Now I’d be lost without my needle book.
It’s definitely been one of my most popular patterns and I think that is because it also makes such a lovely gift for someone special.
If you’d like to make one, you can purchase the pattern here.
My next favourite tool is also sewing related.
I suppose I could live without it… but life is so much nicer having my Pincushion angel on my sewing table.
As anyone who sews knows, you have to have something to keep your pins in when using your sewing machine.
And my angel works double duty as the keeper of my embroidery scissors in her rear pocket too.
I like having something a little different and I guess it has more sentimental value when you make it yourself.
This didn’t start out to be an advertisement for my E-patterns [blush],
But the Pincushion Angel is also available in my Boutique.
I’d hate to have to part with either of these craft room tools.
So tell me….
What crafting tool is your absolute must have?
I’m sharing my craft room must haves with these friends this week:
