This week on Simply Christmas we are…
For many people, a gift made by hand and given with love is appreciated far more than a mass produced purchase one, but this is definitely a gift list that needs to be well thought out.
Sadly some people just don’t get the labour of love that goes into making something by hand. Keep these special gifts for the people in your life that you know will appreciate the time and effort.
Personally, I like handmade gifts for people who are really difficult to buy for. At least with ‘handmade’ they are getting something unique!
So today on day 1 of our handmade gift making I’ve sharing some of my favourite tutorials that are on my own list of ‘must makes’ this Christmas.
I’ve already got all my supplies together to make these adorable hungry bunnies.
The pattern is by Ashley at Lil Blue Boo and was actually posted as an Easter tutorial, but I think they make a great gift for any time of the year.
Perfect for a little one with a secret gift inside the pocket mouth, or what about for a hard to buy for teen with a gift card hidden inside!
Definitely whipping up a couple of coin purses for my girlfriends… they are so quick and easy!
Don’t most women love a little coin purse…
Sometimes when you are out for an evening and just need some ID and small cash/credit card, a coin purse is perfect to tuck inside a small clutch or a pocket.
This adorable pattern and tutorial is my Flamingo Toes.
Next on my list is a vintage lace brooch for a very special friend.
I have the perfect vintage pin to use and I know she’ll love her own little bit of Granny Chic.
Think I might even gift myself with one of these… won’t I be surprised to find an adorable handmade vintage piece under the Christmas tree.
Oh that Santa… he knows me so well.
This super easy tutorial is by Amy at Positively Splendid
I’m a big fan of making my own products and I enjoy silver stamping, so I’ve had Kelly’s bath salts and stamped spoon idea on my ‘must make’ list for ages.
I know a few tired mums who will appreciate the pleasure of this ‘ME TIME’ gift.
And imagine all the fun ways you could package this up.
Get the great tutorials for both the bath salts and ‘how to stamp on silver’ at Kelly’s blog Eclectically Vintage.
Well I think those gorgeous handmade projects will keep me busy for the next few days…
I’ll be back tomorrow with more exciting handmade Christmas gift tutorials.
I’m sharing my handmade Christmas picks with these lovely friends this week…
Inspiration Exchange, The DIY Dreamer, The Scoop, Transformation Thursday, French Country Cottage, The Vintage Farmhouse, Be Inspired Friday at Common Ground
