We all know that Christmas doesn’t have to be complicated . . . but too often it is, so let’s simplify it with a little planning!!
If you followed ‘Simply Christmas’ in previous years then you know I always start with a Christmas Planner. . . . and this year is no exception.
In 2011 we scaled it down to an A5 size which was small enough to fit in your shopping bag, but still big enough to hold all your lists, calendars, recipes etc. After such positive feedback I decided to go with that size again this year.
I’ve designed the free downloadable 2012 Christmas Planner with a gorgeous Victorian theme this year. . . which should really evoke that old fashioned Christmas we are looking for.
There are 17 pages in all for you to download as a simple PDF file. Save to your computer and print on normal printer settings.
For my own planner I used a spiral bound A5 visual art diary (available at newsagents, discount stores and stationary suppliers), but any A5 sized book will be fine.
I went with a shabby vintage look, incorporating some pretty scrapbooking papers and vintage embellishments, as well as my planner pages.
There are two planner pages per A4 sheet, so trim you pages to size and adhere to your diary with double sided tape.
Some of the pages you will need to print several times eg. the weekly diary page, menu plans, shopping lists, wish list etc.
Other pages need to be more portable. . . like the menu plans and grocery list shown below. I kept them in place using a paper clip, so I could remove them when needed.
I also added various sized pockets, paper bag pages for slipping in receipts etc . . . and pretty tabs to make flipping through the planner quick and easy.
To keep it all secure I also attached a ribbon to the front and back cover so I could tie it closed when not in use.
My planner is just one example of what you can do with your free downloadable Christmas Planner pages.
Please have fun with your planner and make it your own.
This Christmas Planner has now been retired. The latest Christmas Planners to download and print are 2016 Christmas Planner and 2017 Christmas Planenr.

Kerryanne

Oh my goodness. I just found your blog and how wonderful this looks! Thank you so much for sharing this. Of course, we all need a little extra organization around Christmas when things are so busy, but I wonder if you use something like this all year round? Wouldn’t something like this make a wonderful journal/appointment book to use for all of 2013? It’s so beautiful and just begs to be used! I have to confess my boring one is usually not used like it should be. You have my mind spinning! I really would love to know if you make something like this for all year a combination calender/journal? This is so awesome!!!!
