Wow Kerryanne, what a fabulous gift for the lucky winner.
Today I took Mum to one of our local garden centres as that have fantastic Christmas displays and as we wandered round I feel in love with each colour scheme in turn LOL they were all so wonderful. If I have to narrow is down though it is a very close run thing between browns/golds/bronzes/coppers and the more luxurious burgandy/cream/pearl.

We have a vintage silver tinsel tree. Most years we use blue ornaments. One year, we had blue ornaments, blue wrapping paper, blue outside lights, and all day Christmas, we had a cd that had Elvis singing “I’ll Have a Blue Christmas”. Our almost teenage grandkids thought we were certifiable. They have no sense of humor! 😉
Jane S. says
We stick with the traditional red/green color scheme. Sometimes I try to introduce burgundy/forest but my kids don’t let me get away with it!
Thank you for the giveaway — I’m a follower through Google Reader.

What an amazingly generous gift. Thanks so much for the opportunity provided to your followers.
My favourite Christmas decorating colours are the very country (and traditional) dark green & burgundy tones with a touch of gold. Mind you I am a “Christmas Tragic” and if I love the item, I will find a home for it in my decorating.
Thanks again

I remember as a child my favourite tinsel was the blue one, but my favourite scheme these days is the traditional red and gold. We always have a real tree, so that the house smells of pine, and I decorate it with shiny red and gold baubles, fairy lights, tinsel and little wooden ornaments and topped with a beautiful filigree star, coated with gold glitter.

What a super giveaway. Our traditional colours for Christmas are red and gold. However, our daughter brought us some beautiful handmade baubles from abroad which are blue and white with very pretty white ribbons so this year I’m thinking of painting some branches white to display them.

Wow, $100 would come in so handy. Favourite colours for Christmas, gold and red on the tree, with matching tableware. I have posted on Facebook in addition to following.

Wow – so generous! We love purple & silver and have stuck with that the past 3 years. I used to change each year between purple & silver one year, red, green & gold the next, but I got a little slack and didn’t want to repaint my reindeers one year so kept them silver. I would love to have a change this year but time is lacking so might have to make that next year’s goal now. We should be in a new home by then too so that will make it special.
Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtail says
You are so generous! I usually use reds with touches of silver and green.
These colors warm up and brighten our darkest time of year.

I’m a traditionalist at Christmas – red and green with gold and silver. My tree is decorated with lots of home made ornaments, including those made by my sons many years ago. Decorating brings back memories of the time that each was made, or where we lived when the item was purchased. As a retired military family, our homes were many, and the decorations meant a lot to everyone.

I thank you very much again for the lovely blog. Your Christmas planner has already come in handy and I really love the gift card holder tutorial. Well done. I shall be making one soon for my son who has just moved across country as a gift card makes much more sense to mail, so the holder will be hanging on his tree out there! I have switched up colours some years for decorating but this year is my most traditional with red and white,& a green tree along with cushions and afghan I did this year in redwork on white. Also I read all the comments prior to mine and it is great to see the colours others use and the family stories. 🙂

Hello~
I just found your blog and see some great things to check out from your past posts.
My fav colors change from year to year, but one that I will do again, (I decorate multiple trees/areas and in different themes and colors!) is a deep red for/with the cardinals that I use to decorate a natural setting and tree in memory of my grandmother… she loved cardinals!
Another one is bright pink and bright green for my Grinch tree which I use around the kids I work with..I love how he had a change of heart and just what the Christmas season is about…Christ and his offer for a change in heart!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Hi Kerryanne,
It was lovely to meet you at Westport markets the other day and I just sooooo love your style! I think this year I’m going to decorate Christmas the way I like and not succumb to family expectations and harrassment! I’ve wanted a black xmas tree for a while now and now that i’m in my new house I think I’m going to go with the black tree and the pearlised and crystal decorations. I’ve been collecting them for a while now and most are still in their boxes! All I need to do is buy the black xmas tree! I have this xmas fantasy about presents all wrapped in plain brown paper but with beautiful pear;/black vintage looking exotic tags (made by me-scrapbooking queen!) of course! Wish me luck!!
Kind regards Karen Kemsley-(Adams)

My favorite color scheme for decorating this year is silver and white. There are so many possibilities! I’m excited about decorating this year, making a few things to go with some things I have. Joye Outlar

I always have red in the decor, but the rest can change year to year. The last few years I’ve liked some more earthy colors instead of the bright ones usually associated with Christmas. I still have greens and reds but they are darker, along with darker orange and either gold, silver, or cream. Blue usually appears somewhere, but it’s never a main color. Our stockings are a cream color that we hand beaded a couple years ago.
I just started following your blog.

I found your blog by way of a post over at Shimelle.com It is very inspirational. I am trying to make as many gifts as possible this year. My favourite Christmas colour scheme is quite traditional … red, green and silver.
I love the Christmas music on your blog 🙂

How generous you are Kerryanne, and how slack I am not to have visited in the past week? I can see some yummy goodness that I have missed so can’t wait to catch up.
Usually I go with silver and gold but this year I have seen the loveliest paper in Target that is blue and silver so i think a change is in order this year. Always silver though 🙂
