In some ways it seems quite appropriate to be painting snow filled winter Christmas scenes whilst in the midst of our winter here in Australia. Of course, we are more at home with a scorching hot Christmas where you are more likely to get a dose of sunburn instead of frost bite. I think just once it would be lovely to experience Christmas as our northern friends do. Perhaps that can be another thing for my ‘To Do’ list – mental note to self…… must experience at least one snow filled Christmas in my lifetime.
I have been working on this canvas the last few days with the fire blazing beside me and hot chocolate at the ready. The fog outside has given me a little taste of what it must be like to prepare for Christmas in winter. How pretty it must be.
This canvas will be heading off to Australian Decorative Painting magazine tomorrow morning. It will be published in one of their Christmas editions of the magazine later in the year. For those of you who can’t wait that long and want to get a head start on your Christmas projects, I will have it listed on my website in the next few weeks.
Most of my magazine commissions are now completed so I can get back to creating my Christmas Collection. I’m really into to the theme of it all now…hhmmm, perhaps it was all those Christmas carols. I’ve had fun at the drawing board and look forward to getting the projects painted. I have tried to accommodate all areas with new projects for the ‘Country to the Core’ website as well as the ‘Shabby Art Boutique’. I’ve even started painting some vintage treasures in a Christmas theme too.
Hugs,

Hi Kerryanne, I am right there with you on the Christmas thing, where shall we go…of course I shall need a new wardrobe and luggage and oh I suppose I really should take the children and then they will need proper winter clothes because it really doesn’t get cold enough in Brisbane for roaring fires etc…..perhaps I should aim for a Yulefest Christmas in the mountains instead…oh I can feel a plan coming on…love love love your little Christmas folk, you are defintely in the jingle hop mode. kiss noises Linda Lilly Cottage.

Hi Kerryanne, that is so cute. Somtimes I think I would like to see a white christmas but I really do hate the cold so I will just have to see it in Blogland instead

Hey Kerryanne! I’m with Alison – NOT a cold weather fan! The only way I’d want to experience a Christmas winter wonderland would be from inside a cozy cabin heated with a constant roaring fire and an enless supply of hot chocolate and hot toddies – not to mention a mountain of good books and stitching projects to keep me occupied!! Love your Christmas critters!! Can’t wait to see what other magic you’ve been brewing in your workshop!! Perhaps we should call you the Christmas Faerie!! Bear Hugs! KRIS (Tag Along Teddies)

Boy you are talented!! Thank you for asking about my back…it is doing much better. I still wake up quite sore if I’ve done a lot the day before, but for the most part, I’m moving really good. How are you doing with yours??
The rose in the picture is called distant drum. I am so new to roses, so I have a lot to learn. Some of the pictures I’ve seen from Australia are so amazing…gives me something to strive for.
Can’t wait to see what else you’re working on. I used to live in South Carolina (which doesn’t really get winter)…and yet it’s still hard for me to fathom that winter for you guys can be so hot. Course I’m originally from Canada…so sometimes I really miss the snow..and other times, I’m so grateful I’m not up there.
Can’t wait to get your package!!

Hi Kerryanne,
I love your Christmas paniting, I have always wanted to experience a white Christmas, one day I will, but it wouldn’t be Christmas without the heat, swimming a bit of backyard cricket or football would it?
Can’t wait to see what else you have created.
Cheers Linda
