DIY–Shabbilicious Woodland Owls

The woodland theme is proving quite popular this year…

And although I’m not usually one to follow trends,

It’s hard to resist cute little critters.

Since I shared my Shabbilicious Woodland Tree on Tuesday, I’ve received a lot of enquiries regarding the owls and how to make them.

A Shabbilicious Woodland Christmas Tree - Shabby Art Boutique

I was planning to use these as a printable pattern packet for my Boutique.

But it is Christmas…

And in the spirit of giving, I’m giving them to you as a gift!

I printed my owls on matt photo paper, then cut them out and adhered them to 3mm MDF using watered down white glue and a squeegee. Next I cut them out using a scroll saw.

If you don’t have access to a scroll saw you could adhere them to heavy card and cut out with a sharp craft knife.

I drilled a small hole in the top of each owl to place a hanger through.

For an extra icy touch, (just because I’m loving the winter theme) I popped a little glue on their heads and dipped them in Epsom Salts.

Happy festive crafting,
